Virtual self-consumption battery

Take advantage of all your surpluses with the virtual self-consumption battery and reduce your bill by 100%.

Contract your Virtual Battery with the electricity tariff that best suits you.

Available for your home, business or 3.0 TD tariffs.

With our virtual self-consumption battery you will be able to convert your generated energy into money to use it as you wish.

How does the virtual self-consumption battery work?

If until now you could only compensate the surpluses in the energy term, now you can use 100% of your generated energy and accumulate it in your virtual battery, spending it at any time of the day, even at night!

Without wasting or giving away a single kWh!

It works as a solar energy battery, converting the kWh generated that you do not self-consume into Euros, at a fixed or market price, keeping them to spend on other electricity bills, so you take advantage of all your solar energy.

Example of operation of the Virtual Self-Supply Battery

Antonio has generated with his photovoltaic installation 600 kWh in September, self-consuming only 250 kWh of the installation, the rest of his bill has been for the consumption of another 153 kWh from the network, we must add the costs for power term, and other concepts, so his electricity bill for that month is 39.84 € in total.

Consumption of a house with an installation of 5 kWp

36,18 €

Without the virtual battery, only with the simplified surplus compensation, the consumer can reduce his bill in the energy term, however, he would continue to pay the rest of the costs.

In the example, the production has generated 350 kWh that have not been self-consumed and have become 63€ of which, after compensating the energy term, there are 36.18€ left over, which the simplified surplus compensation system does not allow to be redeemed, and the consumer simply loses them.
However, with the virtual battery, you can compensate all the concepts.

With Virtual Self-consumption Battery

Other costs (less accumulated in virtual battery)

36,18 €

With the virtual battery, the 350 kWh that you have generated but have not self-consumed have been converted into 63€ (with your surplus at market price) with which you have compensated the energy term and you can also take advantage to compensate in the next month's bill or a second home.
Therefore, you can pay 0€ for your next electricity bill thanks to the amount accumulated in the virtual battery.

It doesn't matter if you are an individual, a company, a community... but you need to meet these two conditions:

  • Have an electricity contract at MIWenergía.
  • To have a self-consumption installation under simplified compensation at the point of supply that is linked to the solar battery.

If you have less than 10kW contracted, your virtual battery has no cost, you only have to contract our Solar Tariff.

The virtual battery for second homes in MIWenergía is totally free, you only have to be a customer of any of our tariffs for this second point of supply.

The electricity tariff that you must contract to link your virtual battery is our electricity tariff at market price.

The kWh dumped to the grid cause deviations on the demand forecast of customers that we must make as a marketer, and this entails penalties. The percentage reduction on the surplus is intended to cover this penalty.

MIWenergía only charges the cost of service for the virtual battery at the point of supply where the solar installation is located.

You can choose the contracts on which the discounts are to be applied, provided that they belong to the same holder.

Discounts are applied to the contracts that have been selected in order of invoice generation.

Discounts may only be applied to contracts registered with MIWenergía.

You choose, you can compensate them at the agreed fixed price or at the market price.

The Virtual Surplus Battery service does not have any type of permanence at MIWenergía.

No problem! If you have two supplies with solar panels, you can register the solar battery for both.

For both, you only need to have an electricity contract with us and a self-consumption installation.
