It can vary between 4 and 10, depending mainly on:


  • Annual energy consumption in the house: it is necessary to take into account how much energy the house consumes for the panels to generate enough energy.
  • Quality and type of panels: the higher the quality, the higher the yield, therefore, the less panels will be needed.
  • Power of the panels: it will indicate the amount of energy it is capable of producing, and must be adequate to the particular needs.
  • Roof orientation: whether the roof faces north, south... the slopes, or if there are elements that generate shade, can affect the radiation received by the panels and therefore their performance.
  • Geographical location: a house in the south of Spain will not need the same solar panels as a house in a place with fewer hours of sunshine per year.

It depends on the power of the panel, as well as its quality and type, the orientation in which it is installed and the location of the installation site.

Although as an approximation a panel has a power of 450W, therefore for 1kW of power 2 panels would be needed, 7 for 3kW and 11 for 5kW.
