MIWenergía has been the first energy company in the Region of Murcia to carry out a building intelligence assessment study in the Magalia Business Center, located in the West Industrial Estate.
The European Commission, in a series of pilot projects, is developing an indicator of the level of "intelligence" of buildings(Smart Readiness Indicator - SRI). This indicator will serve as a tool for the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), which aims to guarantee the EU's targets for greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption in the building sector and to reinforce its program of complete decarbonization by 2050.
This is a study within the development phase of the SRI and helps us in our commitment to new technologies and continuous investment in R&D to improve the service to our customers. This study was carried out in the Magalia Business Center building, which participates in several European innovation projects such as UtilitEE and DRIMPAC. These projects use ICT tools to measure the capacity of users to modify their habits thanks to the information provided by the intelligent sensors installed in the building, with the aim of achieving energy savings or achieving a flexibility that allows them to participate in the electricity market and improve the implementation of clean energy.
The SRI helps to evaluate buildings according to their level of deployment of technological devices and the connectivity of these devices. We will also be able to assess the impact of installing smart meters inside our building, which help us to make decisions that are more in line with the current energy situation, saving money on electricity bills and reducing CO2 emissions.
At MIWenergíawe believe that the implementation of this indicator will allow us to add new smart energy services, improving energy efficiency and the ability to adapt to demand, which is positively valued by our customers. The digitalization of the sector consists of taking advantage of technological advances and making them available for energy efficiency.
