Last weekend the neighborhood of Joven Futura in Murcia celebrated its 1st Chess Tournament as part of the local festivities promoted by the Neighborhood Association of Joven Futura. We have been at this event supporting the activities and also we took the opportunity to present one of the European projects in which we are involved, the DRIMPAC Project, in which 55 families living in the neighborhood participate as volunteers of the Murcian pilot.
The activity attracted more than a hundred families not only residents of Joven Futura but from all over the region. The attendees were briefed on the objectives of the DRIMPAC project, which aims to encourage the participation of consumers in demand response actions, turning them into prosumers and active agents in the electricity market. In addition, we had the chance to show the tool developed for the energy consumption management and the technology implemented in the pilot project at some houses in the neighborhood and two office buildings located in the region of Murcia.
Many of the attendees already knew the activities of the DRIMPAC project and some others, in fact, are involved as participants in the pilot. This allowed us to generate debate among the attendees about the outcomes of the project, which raised the interest in the project.
MIWenergía is proud to collaborate in the activities carried out by Educajedrez, which promotes the practice of chess for the development of cognitive skills. In addition, the tournament turned out to be a great opportunity to be close to the participants of the project, answering some of their doubts, and disseminate the activities of the project to others.
