The contracted poweris a fixed term on your bill that is measured in kW. This term refers to the capacity of your home (premises, business, industry...) to support a certain amount of kW at the same time. That is to say, the electrical appliances that we can connect at the same time without running out of electricity due to the "lowering of the leads".

The essential thing is to know the sufficient kW to perform your routine, and a little more for occasional days, but without overcharging your electricity bill. This part of the bill is paid every month, regardless of consumption, and its value is usually expressed in kWday or kWyear.

The energy consumed is measured in kWh. It corresponds to the amount of energy you have consumed over a period of time.

It is calculated by multiplying the kW consumed at a supply point such as a house or premises, by the time they are in operation. Adding up the energy consumed by all the electrical appliances we have, we obtain the monthly energy consumption.

So, what you pay for this term on your bill will depend on: the price per kWh that you have established in your electricity tariff and the amount of kWh you consume each month..

The price of electricity for a company can vary greatly depending on different factors such as the type of company and volume of energy consumed, the power it needs to develop its activity, the type of electricity tariff it has, the ability to shift its consumption to off-peak periods to save costs, and how efficient it can be in its energy expenditure.

On kW (kilowatt) is the unit of measurement used to quantify the electrical power of light. electrical power of light that supports the installation of the building.

Indicates the power capacity required by an electrical appliance to operate. Depending on the appliance, it may be indicated in watts (W) or kilowatts (kW).

The total sum of all the electrical appliances connected at the same time should not exceed the contracted power.

On kWh is the unit of measurement used to account for consumption over a period of time. The kWh measures energy consumption in kilowatt hours.

The kilowatt hour determines the energy that has been consumed in a given period of time. It corresponds to the kW consumed by each electrical appliance for the time they are in operation.

The total sum of all the kWh consumed each month is reflected in our bill. In the electricity bill we pay the total number of kWh consumed for the price of kWh that we have contracted with our electricity tariff.

As for the price, you can find companies that offer different options. The first thing is to know the need that we want to cover when contracting a tariff and to know exactly the benefits that the company to contract brings me.

The first thing to take into account is the characteristics of our business and its needs. The power needed to carry out the activity and the consumption that this could generate, are determining data.

P1, P2 and P3 are the hourly periods on the electricity bill. Energy prices change according to the time you consume energy. We tell you more about them:

  • P1 or also known as " Peak hour"is the time slot that takes place from Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. 10.00 to 14.00 hours and from 18.00 to 22.00 hours. This is the period when energy consumption prices are highest.
  • P2 o "Flat Hour"which is from Monday to Friday, from 08.00 to 10.00 hours, from 14.00 to 18.00 hours and from 22.00 to 00.00 hours. The consumption price in this segment is average, it is neither the most expensive nor the cheapest.
  • P3 or also called "Valley Hour is is between 00:00 and 8:00 in the morning, and the hours of the weekend (Saturdays and Sundays) or holidays uninterruptedly, being this section where prices are lower and therefore the cost of your electricity bill.

As for the energy term or power, a tranche is the grouping of hours that you can find in a day and mark the price of your electricity bill. Hence, the Peak Hour (P1), the Flat Hour (P2) and the Valley Hour (P3).
