MIWenergía helps train the future heroes of the green economy

The GrEnFIn Project - Greening Energy Market and Finance, aims to develop a long-lasting and cooperative relationship between industry and academia in the energy sector to train skilled energy professionals to meet the climate and energy challenges led by the European Union.

The Erasmus+ program is part of the education and training strategy of the Europe 2020 Strategy, which includes all education, training, youth and sport initiatives, integrating all educational levels from school to higher and professional education.

The GrEnFIn initiative ultimately aims to contribute to the decarbonization of the European Union economy through investment in knowledge and competence in higher and professional education in the energy sector by disseminating best practices to address the challenges of sustainable development in the EU.

The performance of MIWenergía will be to contribute his vision of the energy sector company. At the same time, he/she will carry out dissemination and communication activities, making available to the project his/her network of contacts in the energy sector. In addition, he/she will coordinate the organization of local workshops that will provide useful information on the needs of the sector that will serve as a basis for the validation of the methodology of the professional module.

The project involves 14 entities from 9 European countries and Brazil. Three summer schools will be organized for students and professionals who will evaluate the proposed content and methodology established in the Master in Green Energy and Finance. This is a full immersion experience in a real environment where conclusions will be drawn and validated after months of research and analysis. Once this is done, the actual development of an innovative Joint Master in Green Energy and Finance aimed at students, but also a Professional Module to train professionals and experts already active in the labor market, will start.

The GrEnFIn project will involve the creation of a comprehensive and innovative training program that draws on the experience and knowledge of the main active players in the sector, such as distributors, research institutes, energy companies, marketers and universities. This will guarantee the highest level of training with up-to-date content that will enable students to apply innovative techniques immediately. This innovative program will train highly qualified European professionals in Green Energy and Finance for the sustainable transformation of the energy sector.
